Another picture from Astronomy Picture of the Day: spiral galaxy NGC 6384, which is about 80 million light years away (photo by Ken Crawford, Rancho Del Sol Observatory). Farther than I've ever had to go for dinner, anyhow. A couple of days ago I was listening to the Today programme and I discovered the amazing GalaxyZoo -- so don't just look at pictures of galaxies, look at pictures of galaxies and help identify what kind they are. It's addictive, which is fortunate, since there's billions and billions to be got through...
